Enterprise Olympics is a two-day business pitch competition bringing together Secondary School students from across Northern Ontario. Students work in teams, based on six business sectors, to develop a business idea, prepare a rudimentary business plan and execute an elevator pitch to a panel of judges!
The goal of Enterprise Olympics is to motivate and inspire young people to search within themselves for entrepreneurial qualities and characteristics, leading them towards a rewarding and gratifying career as their own boss.
Enterprise Olympics provides an opportunity for students to examine their entrepreneurial skills and gain real-world business experience. These real world experiences and connections are valuable assets to students and provide insight into opportunities for youth in Northern Ontario.
How it works?
Students can choose to work in one of six different sectors: Health and Wellness, Retail, Technology and Innovation, Arts and Culture, Social Enterprise, and Mining and Forestry. Each team will complete their pitch in front of a panel of judges, along with other groups in their sector to win prize money.
Facilitators deliver an introductory and recruitment workshop in your classroom or school offered in both official languages.
The winning team from each sector wins $500 and will then compete in a final competition, where each member of the team will receive a $1,000 bursary towards tuition at a participating post-secondary school in Northern Ontario!
“Thank you for organizing the Enterprise Olympics. Your hard work is greatly appreciated. Our kids really enjoyed it and are looking forward to the next event.”
