Enterprise Olympics is a two-day business pitch competition bringing together Secondary School students from across Northern Ontario. Students work in teams, based on six business sectors, to develop a business idea, prepare a rudimentary business plan and execute an elevator pitch to a panel of judges!
The goal of Enterprise Olympics is to motivate and inspire young people to search within themselves for entrepreneurial qualities and characteristics, leading them towards a rewarding and gratifying career as their own boss.
Enterprise Olympics provides an opportunity for students to examine their entrepreneurial skills and gain real-world business experience. These real world experiences and connections are valuable assets to students and provide insight into opportunities for youth in Northern Ontario.
How it works?
Students can choose to work in one of six different sectors: Tourism and hospitality, Mining and forestry, Social enterprise, Technology and innovation, Arts and culture or Health and wellness. Each team will complete their pitch in front of a panel of judges, along with other groups in their sector to win prize money.
Facilitators deliver an introductory and recruitment workshop in your classroom or school offered in both official languages.
The winning team from each sector wins a $500 cash prize. One team will also be selected as the overall EO winner and receive a shared $1,000 cash prize, AND a $1,000 scholarship, for each member of the winning team, to a participating Northern Ontario post-secondary institution.
Be at the centre of activity and help make Enterprise Olympics the best that it can be by participating as a mentor or sector judge. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, or would like more information on sponsorship please check out our sponsorship package.
